Five reasons why Osberton is a gold medal day out

The Osberton International Horse Trials are coming up fast. Some of the world’s best riders will descend on the Osberton Estate on 27 September, with stars of the future looking to show what they can do.

There’s so much on offer at Osberton. Read why it’s a fun day for the whole family to enjoy.

Shire Horses will make a much awaited return after their debut last year.

Bringing together 50 of the best working Shire Horses from across the UK, you can see for yourself why these magnificent animals are so symbolic of Britain’s heritage.

Displays from England’s oldest coach horses will include a ploughing competition, plus you can marvel at their beauty as they parade around the arena.

Our own version of Cruft’s

It’s not just horses who have a chance to shine at Osberton; we’ll also be holding our very own dog show. Some of the best canines from across the region will take centre stage, so if you’re a dog-lover, you’ll be in good company at Osberton.

We welcome well-behaved dogs to the trials – after all, they’re part of the family too!

Have a shop around

Our shopping village continues growing year on year. From fashion to homemade jams, crafts to gifts for your pets, you’re sure to find a hidden gem amongst our stalls. And of course, the International Horse Trials wouldn’t be complete without a variety of equestrian products too.

So if you’re looking for a treat for your dog, brand new riding equipment, or you just want a browse, be sure to pay the shopping village a visit.  Perhaps this is a chance to get a head start on your Christmas shopping.

Bring a picnic

Where else can you relax with top class horses and a picnic? At our Picnic Parking area! You can park your car and treat the whole family to a ringside seat at the water jump area.

Don’t worry if you run out of supplies either – our Bus Bar and catering stands will ensure that you stay topped up. All you need to bring is your picnic blanket.

The main attraction – the Trials

Osberton promises to be a star-studded event, with Olympic medallists gracing our course. The Young Horse Championships give you the chance to see the star horses of the future. And if that wasn’t enough, our novice competitions give those riders who are new to the circuit a great opportunity to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with their idols.

The Trials have become a huge favourite in the eventing calendar over the years. You never know, you might be inspired to try eventing yourself!

Save the date and book your tickets

The Osberton International Horse Trials will take place from 27 – 30 September at the Osberton Estate in Worksop. The Estate has been home to the Trials since the 1960s and each year welcomes more visitors than ever before.

Dogs are welcome but MUST be kept on a lead at all times.
